Cancellation & Rescheduling policy
This policy applies to 1:1 tutoring, 1:2 tutoring, and group block sessions, whether delivered in-person or online.
1. Lesson Times and Late Arrival
Lessons start and finish at the agreed time.
If a student arrives late, the session will not be extended and the full session fee still applies.
2. How to Cancel or Reschedule
Cancellations and rescheduling requests must be made by email or WhatsApp as early as possible.
Notice is measured from the scheduled lesson start time.
3. 1:1 and 1:2 Lesson Cancellations
First cancellation is free (one per student).
After the free cancellation has been used:More than 48 hours’ notice: no charge
12 to 48 hours’ notice: 50% of the lesson fee
Less than 12 hours’ notice or no-show: 100% of the lesson fee
4. Rescheduling (1:1 and 1:2)
Rescheduling is free if the lesson can be moved to another time within the same week (subject to availability).
If no suitable alternative time is available, the request will be treated as a cancellation and the cancellation rules above apply.
5. Group Block Packages (Half-Term Blocks)
Group sessions are sold as block bookings (not one-off lessons).
Cancel with 7+ days’ notice before the block starts: pro-rata refund for unused sessions
Cancel with less than 7 days’ notice before the block starts: the next session fee is retained, and the remainder is refunded on a pro-rata basis
(Places are limited, so late cancellations may reduce the ability to fill the space.)
6. If Bright Fern Education Cancels
If a session is cancelled by Bright Fern Education (for example, tutor illness or emergency), you will be offered:
A rescheduled session, or
A full refund for the cancelled session (or pro-rata refund where relevant)
7. Trial / First Lesson
The first full lesson is no-obligation. If you choose not to continue after the first lesson, you may request a full refund for that lesson.
8. Refunds
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method where possible.
Refunds for blocks are calculated on a pro-rata basis (as outlined above).
9. Changes to This Policy
Bright Fern Education may update this policy. Where changes affect active clients, we will provide reasonable notice where possible.
